Topics discussed during this meeting include a review of the construction industry and the factors that might affect a contractor’s performance over the next several years, including backlog reductions in non-residential & public sector contractors, an extreme spike in inflation that is atypical of an early expansion cycle, a looping infrastructure package, unprecedented growth in the residential sector, a review of the surety market, recent loss ratios, surety loss cycles, and how loss ratios are impacted by recessions and forecasts.
Mr. Alber, an AV Preeminent® rated attorney and a Past Program Chairperson for the National Bond Claims Association, maintains a national practice focusing primarily on Surety & Fidelity Law and construction disputes. He is a member of the Surety Claims Institute and has been selected as a Michigan Super Lawyer every year since 2007. He frequently writes and lectures on surety and construction issues.
