In this case, our client encountered a steady stream of difficulties when trying to obtain a refund of her Residence Entrance Fee to a local Senior Assisted Living facility. Because of prior financial difficulties, the State of Michigan required the facility to escrow the client’s Entrance Fee with a third-party escrow agent. This matter was made more challenging because the facility had filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy. We successfully assisted the client in navigating through the bureaucracy and obtained a full refund for the client in excess of $100,000.
