Michael Orcutt is an experienced commercial litigator with a particular emphasis on real estate law, construction law, and insurance matters. He has successfully tried more than one dozen jury and bench trials to verdict for his clients.

Mr. Orcutt’s professional liability practice has included the representation of architects, engineers, attorneys, appraisers, and real estate and insurance brokers throughout the State of Arizona.

In addition, he has successfully defended numerous appeals through the Arizona Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Orcutt has written a number of published articles and is the co-author of the Real Estate Broker Liability chapter of the Arizona Tort Law Handbook published by the Arizona State Bar.

He received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Barrett Honors College, Arizona State University, where he graduated magna cum laude. Following undergraduate studies, Mr. Orcutt obtained his law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Michael Orcutt Provides Expert Testimony Before the Arizona Senate Judiciary Committee on Statute of Limitations for Appraisers and Mortgage Brokers

Michael Orcutt was selected by the Coalition of Arizona Appraisers to provide testimony before the Arizona Senate Judiciary Committee on a bill sponsored by Senator Kate Brophy McGee that would create a statute of limitations specific to appraisers, appraisal management companies, and mortgage brokers.

Mr. Orcutt testified in favor of this bill on February 15, 2018, and after his testimony the Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously in favor of the bill. Senator Brophy McGee has asked Mr. Orcutt to continue his involvement and work with her as a primary supporter of this bill as it progresses.
